The Borbor Bele album remains one of the best selling and transformational music recordings by a Sierra Leonean recording artist.
The album was produced by Bodyguard Studios and featured Emmerson Bockarie and Velma Richards.
Game Changer
“This album and the management of it changed the way Sierra Leonean musicians were viewed and the impact of an artist on the wider society.”
Emmerson remains a national icon and fans young and old wait for his new music with bated breath. He has released multiple albums but in December 2005 when he signed up to supremeINC he was relatively unknown.
National Stadium Launch
The Borbor Bele album was launched to the general public in February 2005 and that concert at the National Stadium with an official capacity of approximately 32,000 was filled to the max and over subscribed with thousands of fans unable to enter the main bowl to witness the show.
Record Breaking
“15 years later, the Borbor Bele launch remains the show with the largest turnout... bar none. ECOFEST came close around 2018 but Emmerson holds firm in top spot.”
After the album launch, the Borbor Bele project toured the whole of Sierra Leone, made it to neighbouring countries including Guinea and The Gambia, before embarking on an unprecedented international tour taking in England and multiple states in the USA.
Emmerson remains an icon
Emmerson worked with supremeINC until mid 2006, but the impact we had on his career is clear for all to see and he is still remembered as the most successful artist managed by our company. We are hugely proud of him and what he has gone on to achieve. He must have had a great foundation!
